This is more like it!

Is Henrik not only the best but the prettiest goalie in the NHL?

I don't have many words for the game. All I know is I felt great at the end, and obviously my team did too. Let's repeat this feeling on Thursday.

Oh Butt!

We lost again. That's all I got. We need a breakway game and soon. I go Monday and Thursday, so either one of those would be a good time.

We did it! Suck it Marty x2

We won! We shut out the Devils! Very satisfying after almost two weeks of disappointment. Henrik has been fantastic, but it sweet to see him smile after a game. And I love Dawes. I was bummed that they sent him down after training. I know it's just one game, but I think he's a keeper. Now 5 more to go at home!

Now let's win some at home!

Ok, that didn't work. I've barely changed the stars of the game because apart from Henrik there's no one to single out. 0 goals in over 120 mins doesn't offer much to celebrate. But the next 7 of 8 are at home where we're 2 for 3, so let's go 6 for 8 or better during this next stretch.

Let's win one on the road!

So that dread I felt all week came to fruition Thursday night! Luckily I don't have that feeling this afternoon, probably because we're 8-0 v. Boston over the last two season. Let's keep that perfect streak alive. We can do it!

At least we aren't 0 for 6!

Not too much to say about Saturday's game against Ottawa. We weren't up to the task again. Hopefully the next time we meet we will be. Of course then we fans have to sit on a loss for 5 days. Rangers meet up with Atlanta tomorrow night. In case you're Mr. Short Term Memory, we swept them out of the playoffs in the first round last year, so you would expect the Thrashers to be seeking a little revenge. But then there were rumors the Atlanta have been tanking games on purpose to oust their coach Hartley. Fine and good. I'll take a game given, not earned. But then they go and fire him today, on the eve our matchup. So no tanking, no free game. And on top of that our Hossa (the good Hossa) will sit out with a chromic groin strain, so even the simple joy of shouting "Our Hossa is better than your Hossa" will not happen. Let's hope we destroy them anyway.

my final curtain

I think this may be my last post. Not because the Rangers lost last night (Ugh. But it happens. At least it wasn't a shutout, and at least Colton Orr — and Brandon Dubinsky! — fought, and at least Nikki Sixx was there) but because I apparently (and unwittingly) sold my soul to a large corporation for a very tiny sum. Pathetic.

I will still keep updating my stars, and commenting on Dollie's entries. And before I go, I must say — have I said this before? — that people who yell "Let's Go Rangers!" during the National Anthem should be sent to Iraq to be used as human shields.

The end.

Very pretty!

See MSG knows how to give the audience what they want...plenty of shots of Avery cheering on his teammates from the Rangers entrance. And he had a lot to cheer. A total game throughout. Henrik was fantastic. The boys were in sync. Loved it.

ps. Maybe the goodness was predestined earlier in the day when I met his majesty, Lord Stanley's Cup!

I blame Versus!

I think they jinxed us by shooting to Hilary Duff every shift. Better to be back on MSG and at MSG. Magic will happen.

Maybe I need that halloween nurse outfit after all!

There's not much positive to say about being shut out by Ottawa on Saturday. Henrik played well enough to keep the score from embarrassment territory. But all I can take away is my new nerd boyfriend Avery is out for 4 weeks with a separated shoulder. I think while he's on IR he should play a different kind of game where he tries to pick up as many fans in the Garden as are willing, starting with section 303. Everyone knows my favorite romance scenario is tending the sick and injured. I could lovingly mop his brow while he mumbles obscenities and trash talk in a fever-induced delirium. Dreamy right?

What a delight!*

It was messy, sloppy, at times lackluster, but we WON!!! Handily! Malik, the 7 ft freak* went from getting boos from the Faithful when introduced to semi-sincere chants of his name toward the end of the game. Plus a 3rd star. Good on you Malik! And Drury won me over already. It took one whole game for me, but most of the crowd went nuts for him when he first popped up on the GardenVision. Now if he would just smile or crack a joke I'll buy his jersey. Henrik was a dream. Prucha's team photo kept looking at us, for serious*. Good work all.

That's a bad outfit, Sean "Clark Kent" Avery

So I was gonna write a post about my top 5 favorite things in the Rangers pre-season to lead into tomorrow night's season opener, but two outta 5 were about Sean Avery anyway. So it's a lovefest. Firstly my man Avery congratulates/takes the piss out of Henrik for winning/not allowing 9 goals in 2 games. And with a smile no less. Gotta love it. Then to top it all of he's seen around fashion week and more recently in his new roster photo sporting the very fetching hornrim glasses you see above. I think he and I should start a study group, any topic of his choosing! Avery must have been checking out footage of us meeting Ewan McGregor and decided he wanted a piece of that action. Next he'll be working on a pompadour (if his hair even grows that long, who knows?). So Hanke may be trying to find his best form, but #16 has come out of the gate in peek comical and sartorial condition.

ps If Henrik is "Hankenstein," what the F does that make Malik?
