west side story

Is it just me or does it look like Chris Drury is auditioning to be a Jet (definitely not a Shark) while celebrating his very timely overtime goal? Despite some early-to-mid season doubts, I must admit Drury has really delivered for us in the 2nd half with exceptional faceoffs, penalty kills, power play intensity and clutch scoring. Tonight he delivers a critical extra point, whch if nothing else lets me be a little less anxious for the two day rest before the home and home against the Isles. Thank you Chris Drury.

ps. I love you Jagr and don't want you to leave. Certainly not without a hug.

not so pretty...

No fun photos for today's game. We lost to the Pens 3-1, with the extra humiliation of NBC harping on the greatness of Sidney Crosby all game long. As Jane says, "He's got the kind of face you like to punch!" and I totally wanted to punch him all afternoon. Not that he's a total asshole, he just make you a little sick with his combination of whininess, earnestness and talent. He's a pain in the ass, but hopefully both the refs and Versus won't be kissing his ass as much tomorrow night. Hopefully we'll be a little more awake too. I thought for sure Avery would have a little fire in his belly to put an exclamation point on his denial of the hooker scandal. Maybe at home tomorrow.

Gotta love it!

I shouldn't enjoy celebrating in front of Brodeur's net as much as I do, but sometimes you just can't control your feelings. How can you not enjoy Dawes' turtle on his back celebration dance to the left? I also enjoy Avery facing off with Mar-tan. I just imagine him saying "I want to have at your big ass so bad Brodeur." Certainly not sincerely or with such sweet language, but I can't think of a better way to rile Marty up.

Now on the Pens. Let's seal this deal by Monday night.

strong down the stretch

This picture says it all. Perhaps it was because in my nervousness I had to scrub the floor rather than watch the game with my eyes, but this loss didn't feel as bad as some others. The pic to your left is in honor of the Islanders photo I used a few months back. We all have these moments. Let's just not have any more this season, starting with tomorrow night's tilt against the Devils in our house. 7-0! Make it happen.

This is the team I'm rooting for!!!

scoring goals, (go Sean Avery!) blocking shots, (go Tyuts! go Betts! go Drury!) getting things done. Go team!

The best part of Avery scoring two goals is the new graphic Gardenvision pops up during the goal song when he does pot one. It's a constant cycle of him lifting his mohawked head and looking right at you. I forget when he had the 1/2 inch mohawk, but he only had it for a split second because it was off center. I think Holweg must have shaved it.

Oh and Henrik recorded his 100th win in the NHL. Fastest Ranger goalie ever. He's the shit!

Let's hope Marty sucks goals all night tomorrow - win 101!

shutout number 9!

Henrik played fantastic! Nigel Dawes delivered. I loved it. I would have loved it a little more if any of our point blank chances went into the net, but I'm happy with 2 points.

Keep at it boys.

Artistry in action!

Thursday's win against the Isle on the Island was a thing of beauty, perhaps that why these photos are so artsy. I love them though, just like this team. Thank you Sather for not trading Avery and please, please, please just sign him.

Also let's keep winning!

If you want to get hotter..

...put on a sweater (like a Rangers jersey). We picked a very good time to get hot on the ice, plus we got a little hotter in the locker room this week with the addition of forward Fredrik "Freddie" Sjostrom (to the left, to the left). He's a dream. Handsome, smiley, funny. I love him. Plus he must have taught countryman Henrik how to give a camera interview, because not only does he make eye contact with the camera (i.e. me) at the end of the interview, but throughout the whole thing. It's brilliant. Also I like the winning. Keep it up, Fred and the gang.
