Aloha Aloha!
Also Hollweg was shipped off to Toronto. They like to play dirty, so his tendency to charge players into the boards will be fostered rather than discouraged up there. Let's just say I won't miss him too much, but I'm not looking forward to playing against him either. I'm a little worried that there's a Rangers conspiracy against asthma sufferers and that Hollweg's buddy in weezing, Blair Betts, is next on the chopping block. With the signing of Dan Fritsche there's a serious surplus of centers and it would break my heart a little to see Betts cut loose from the team. I can't account for it, I just love him.

We shutout those bitches!

I know it's just one win, but it was beautiful. I couldn't have scripted it better. Maybe less anxious, but not better. Jagr was a monster yet again and scored two goals. Henrik was perfect. Shanahan was strong. I knew it was gonna be a good game when Renney inserted Strudwick into the lineup. You got a pair of guys (struds and Hollweg) with dueling 70's porn mustaches, you gotta put them both on the ice. The Pens can't even grow mustaches. It's like a constant visual taunt on the ice or from the bench.I think it was the power of Mara's fully grown Paul Bunyan beard that compelled Crosby and Malkin to take simultaneous penalties in the third frame. Let me tell you watching both skate into the box at the same time was a total delight. Malkin had a rough night all around. Maybe he's never seen a man so handsome as Henrik and that why he slowed down to creeping pace on his penalty shot! He just had to get a good gander up close of that beautiful face. C'mon he's got to look at Fleury all the time who wouldn't get a little rattled by Henke's incredible attractiveness? Maybe Henrik should play without his mask tomorrow afternoon? I wouldn't risk it, but if there are any Rangers fans near the glass bring Henrik's face on a stick and wave it at the peachfuzz boys in black. Whatever it takes to get a another win.
ps. I'm sorry Versus, Doc Emeric actually called the game beauifully from the clips I saw. Perhaps it was because the Pens didn't have anything positive to celebrate, but it seemed the Crosby love was meted out with less abandon. I hope Avery fully enjoyed watching.

This is the team I'm rooting for!!!

scoring goals, (go Sean Avery!) blocking shots, (go Tyuts! go Betts! go Drury!) getting things done. Go team! The best part of Avery scoring two goals is the new graphic Gardenvision pops up during the goal song when he does pot one. It's a constant cycle of him lifting his mohawked head and looking right at you. I forget when he had the 1/2 inch mohawk, but he only had it for a split second because it was off center. I think Holweg must have shaved it.
Oh and Henrik recorded his 100th win in the NHL. Fastest Ranger goalie ever. He's the shit!
Let's hope Marty sucks goals all night tomorrow - win 101!

You're ugly lecavalier!

So I used a little of J's patented reverse psychology armchair tactics against Tampa Bay last night and it seemed to work. Another win (We'll just gloss over that loss to the Isles). I always like the look of Henrik, but I especially liked the way he played this game. Now he's up to 2nd and 3rd in GA and SV% respectively! Beautiful. And the benches reaction to Colton Orr's goal was priceless. I had to tape Rangers in 60 just to get another look at it!
ps. My favorite call of the night was Sam's "He ROBBED Hollweg!" Like to hear a lot more of that!

So yeah, we were all over the map in Pittsburg last night. Down 2, playing like crap, up one, seemingly invincible. But maybe it was all a buildup to Strudwick's quick overtime goal. The utter delight on all of the guys faces was stunning and beautiful. I loved it all around. Now we just have to get goals for Hollweg, Betts and Orr. Also, let's have a 60 minute game against the Isles tomorrow night!

hit me with your best shot
Hollweg and Simon are on the ice together for the first time since that time, Colton Orr racks up 30 MINUTES in penalties and not one TV station shows the game?! Come on, people. Also, come on, Rangers. Seriously, you can't only win when I'm there. I appreciate the loyalty, really, but I appreciate wins even more.

the firm
Just now, I'm watching "Side Order of Life" (that's the sort of thing I do when there's no hockey), and one (lawyer?) character just asked another if he could get her a job lead with the prestigious Ortmeyer & Hollweg firm. His answer. "Yeah, sure. Dan Girardi's an old friend." Silly.
Sadly, as of airtime, they are no longer partners. Though if they are hiring, I'm also seeking employment.

yeah, no problem, Tyuts
Last night, Dollie introduced me to this one, which is my favorite ever, not just because Matt Cullen is in it (he's the ping-pong playing "Bonehead" who doesn't understand Russian) but mostly because it made me laugh for at least 15 minutes after I saw it. That plant? Comedy gold. I've never caught this one on TV, and I seriously watch hours of MSG a day. So I'm sharing. Enjoy!
