You know I love Matt Cullen, and I hate to see him down on the ice and then bleeding, so take it from me: That was a clean hit. Sure, it would be a lot more fun to pretend that Colton Orr was gunning for him in some jealous rage over my undying love (when I write the book, that will be how it goes). But that's just not real. Those were two good guys who collided with no malicious intent. I am sure of it.

Sorry to be a fair weather fan, only writing when my boys win, but between Christmas and the Rangers suck play of late, I haven't had the wherewithall to post much. The Blueshirts finally showed up at the Garden last night blanking the Pens 4-0. I wasn't in the audience, but I certainly don't begrudge white ticket holders wins. I just think we should win every game. This win was much needed. I was too hungover to do my game day routine yesterday, so it was with no effort on my part. Maybe they thought they had to make up for me. Fortunately I don't plan to put that theory to the test anytime this weekend as I will be faithfully adhering to every superstition I have. I'm hoping the Rangers give us a commanding 3-0-0 performance for Christmas. That's what I asked Santa for anyway.

Oooh la la! Just perfect. Shanny scores a beauty 30 seconds into overtime. Another shutout for Henrik! I could do without a point for the devils, but a girl can't have everything. Well done boys. Plus they didn't even interview the Devils after. I'm a genie in a bottle.
It's bad enough that the pre-game will feature barely contained condescension from Brodeur & co. I can live through that, but I cannot stomach postgame gloating Devils. So let's win this one for me, for MSG viewers near and far.
Ps. I'm pleased Hossa (Marcel) notchd his first goal Friday, but it would be better if he did it in his own building. Let's "Hossa, Hossa, Hossa" ring loud and long through the Garden.

I use the past tense hoping our sucking is truly in the past. I don't to suffer through another December like last year where we don't win until the final game of the month. We barely recovered from the hole that put us in. So let's thrash the Thrashers tonight, and kick some Devils' ass on Sunday.

That we would win, that we would win so handily. Actually I took it to be a bad sign that Ottawa dropped their last game to Nashville in the last 22 seconds because I thought they would be anxious to stop the bleeding. But I've got to say we played really well today. Even when the very dangerous Sens were pressing and spending far too much of the 2nd half too close to Henrik, we kept composure and battled it out. Plus, MSG used the occasion of Hossa's 2 assists to play the "Hossa, Hossa, Hossa" song which I've been achin' to hear all season. Our house is happy, the team is happy. I'd like to be happy on Monday and Thursday too, maybe with a repeat airing of the Hossa song!
